What you get with managed hosting
Patching on a schedule
Operating system and control panel updates applied in an announced window, with a restore point taken first.
Monitoring that reaches a person
Automated checks with staffed escalation, so an alert at 3am is seen by someone rather than queued.
Backups verified by restoring them
A backup nobody has restored is not a backup. Restore tests are run monthly and reported.
Hardening and firewall management
A documented baseline applied and reviewed, with firewall rules maintained as your services change.
Performance tuning
Stack tuning reviewed quarterly on Advanced, based on your actual traffic rather than defaults.
Reporting you can hand to a board
Monthly summaries covering patches applied, incidents, restore tests and open recommendations.
What managed does and does not cover
Managed services fail when scope is vague. Here is the boundary, and it is also written into the agreement.
Covered
Operating system, control panel, web and database services, firewall, backups, monitoring and incident response.
Not covered by default
Your application code, third-party plugins, and content changes. These can be added to the scope by agreement.
Escalation
Anything outside scope is quoted before work starts. You will not receive a surprise invoice.
Choosing the right tier
A plan is only good value if it matches what you are actually running. These are the situations each tier was sized for.
A business without a sysadmin
You have a server and nobody whose job it is to look after it.
Revenue-critical infrastructure
Round-the-clock response and proactive tuning.
Multi-server estates
Several servers, a custom SLA and change management.
We move your site, you approve the switch
Assisted migration is included with hosting plans. Nothing goes live until you have seen it working on your new account.
Tell us where your site lives
Share your current host and access details through an encrypted form, or a cPanel backup if you have one.
We move it and test it
Files, databases and mailboxes are copied to your new account and checked on a temporary URL first.
You approve the switch
Once you confirm the test site looks right, we schedule the DNS change with you, usually outside business hours.
