Storage is the number most plans advertise and the least likely to be your constraint. What usually limits a site is CPU, memory and entry processes.
Match the limit to the workload
- Brochure and portfolio sites: almost any plan. Storage and bandwidth are not your constraint.
- WordPress with plugins: memory and CPU matter most. Server-level caching removes most of the load.
- Online stores: entry processes and object caching, because cart and checkout pages cannot be page-cached.
- Applications and APIs: consistent CPU and I/O, which is where cloud hosting or a VPS starts to make sense.
Signs you have outgrown your plan
- Pages slow down at predictable busy times rather than randomly.
- Resource usage in the client area sits near its ceiling for hours rather than spiking briefly.
- You are seeing 508 resource limit errors.
